Please help us welcome Nicole Wong, Clinical Systems Administrator, by learning a little more about her in this blog article!

Q: Passion and Purpose: What aspect of your work brings you the most joy and fulfillment?
My colleagues at OWL, the meaningful relationships built along the way and the positive impact to help foster successful clinical trials is what brings me the most joy and fulfillment in my work. Having the ability to potentially improve lives of those battling cancer, rare diseases, or other therapeutic areas is something I find rewarding and gives me a sense of purpose.
Q: Collaboration and Teamwork: How do you foster a collaborative and productive environment within your team?
The culture and team environment at OWL always drew my attention. Recently joining this new family or parliament has been an absolute HOOT and blast so far. I am grateful to be surrounded with professional, intelligent, knowledgeable and experienced individuals. Simultaneously, there is a great sense of humor which always makes work extremely fun. Given that clinical trials can be quite complex, I also appreciate how OWL operates in a way that is efficient, transparent and flexible. I value and recognize the level of mutual respect, and cherish the ability of being comfortable in my own skin.
Q: Balancing Act: How do you manage to maintain a healthy work-life balance?
For me personally, I maintain a healthy work-life balance by being consciously aware of how I spend and manage my time. Being organized and detail-oriented helps me prioritize and focus on the critical deliverables for the day, while ensuring that I also set time aside to disconnect by making time for myself, family and friends at the end of the work day. Having this balance allows me to show up as a better person overall - as a colleague, friend, daughter and sister. It enables me to perform with intention, focus and accuracy without feeling a sense of burnout.
Q: Hidden Talents: Can you share a hidden talent or hobby that not many people know about you?
Aside from being a Clinical Research professional, I am also a certified personal trainer and nutritionist. In my spare time, I enjoy helping and empowering people to feel physically and mentally stronger, while improving their energy levels. I’m an advocate for building sustainable habits that actually fit their unique lifestyle and I love building meaningful relationships and connections while hearing other people’s stories.
Q: Morning Routine: What's your go-to morning ritual that sets a positive tone for your day?
My go-to morning ritual that sets a positive tone for my day is spending some quality time hugging and playing with my cat. Also, getting some sort of movement in, whether that be going for a walk or to the gym, stretching, or some time in the sauna while listening to some calm melodies like jazz or classical music is another way that serves as a strong foundation for me to tackle my day.
Q: Travel Wish: If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be and why?
I would like to travel to Japan as I’ve heard such wonderful things about it such as the food scene, culture (as people are kind and polite), beautiful temples, seasonal landscapes like cherry blossoms and bamboo forests, and the cleanliness of the cities.
